20 feet up a tree, the limb Joe held for support while hanging a stand suddenly snapped. Friend and field producer Scott Heminger looked up just in time to see Joe hurtling backwards to the ground.

Though seriously injured, Joe survived that fall in large part to a split-second act of heroism by Scott.
